I was in my Lay-Z-Boy surfing the internet in my pajamas when the connection started to get slow and bogged down. I was the only one on the wireless network and I couldn’t figure out why the connection was bad. So, I did some more surfing after I reset the router.
I found out that the cordless phone system that I have also runs on the same frequency that the router is configured to run. Weird, huh? But I guess it makes sense after all.

If you have noticed that your laptop has been running slower and progressively torturing your patience… then here’s a little bit of geek that you can do:
While the laptop is off, turn it upside down and vacuum out the air vents (Don’t use canned air, you’ll force dust further into your laptop).
Turn on your laptop and completely amaze your friends with your new-found geekness!
Here’s the logic behind this:Dust and lint gets wedged between the fan and the heat sink and the airflow becomes limited. This can cause the laptops components to overheat and the fan spins faster to compensate for bad airflow. This overheating will reduce the performance of the laptop and it’s battery charge and could also reduce the laptop’s lifespan.

3) Sign up for an ONLINE back-up service.

There are many programs that enable you to ‘clean up’ your temporary files. You know – those pesky files that you get whenever you visit a website. And if you are a serious web surfer, those can add up to alot of data space if you aren’t regularly cleaning them up. I have found some free-ware that is the best. Its simple, fast and effective. Everything you wanted in your PC, right? (LOL)
